Jupiter

A good rule of thumb: The further west you go from the ocean, the lower the prices.

Welcome to Jupiter

Jupiter is the northernmost town in Palm Beach County. It borders the Atlantic Ocean and boasts a pristine, white sand beach coastline. With 5 miles of Atlantic Ocean beaches, 22 miles of Intracoastal Waterway and 18 golf courses (including 5 public courses), this is an outdoor-lovers paradise. Public beaches are free to all comers, the Intracoastal is ideal for fishing, kayaking and paddleboarding and the Jupiter Inlet provides ocean access to boaters.

Jupiter has several nicknames, from “Golf’s Hot Spot” to the “Epicenter of Professional Golf,”. With several golf courses in the county limits, the area lives and breathes its famed sport more than any other place on earth. Because of this, it is a popular spot for golf pros to settle down and hit balls when they aren’t out on tour.

An exclusive beachside community, Jupiter has small-town vibes and expensive luxuries to boast. Florida is often viewed as the state where people go to retire and relax. As such, it is one of the golfing capitals of the world. However, even compared to the rest of the state, Jupiter boasts some of the best golf courses and a proverbial all-star team of talent living in its borders.

It’s a very diverse place to live with retirees, families, singles and millennials. There are waterfront condos that go for $5 million and equally high-priced homes in golf and gated luxury communities such as Jonathan’s Landing and The Bear Club (developed by golf legend Jack Nicklaus) alongside more modest developments, where a one-bedroom unit lists for under $300,000. There are several age-restricted developments and a large stock of single-family homes; these are often purchased by families whose children attend the 3,000-student Jupiter School District. Abacoa, a planned development near Roger Dean Stadium, a minor league ballpark, is home to Florida Atlantic University and the new Scripps Research Center. A good rule of thumb: The further west you go from the ocean, the lower the prices.
